The best rugged phones
for traveling by motorcycle

When it comes to navigating or plotting a route, there is always a question that grips bikers: do I buy a specific navigation device or a battle phone?

If you are here, it is because you are considering the purchase of a rugged phone that can also serve you to navigate during your travels without the worry of ruining your latest generation smartphone. We have therefore chosen for you what we think could be your ideal travel companions, rugged phones and more!

Samsung XCover Pro

The first phone we chose is a Samsung XCover Pro, with a refurbished cost of around 260 this Samsung can be a viable alternative to the traditional navigator thanks to a very bright screen, a rather small thickness and a processor fast enough to run most apps well. The 4050 mAH battery is certainly longer lasting than 90% of smartphones on the market

Blackview BV8800

On the other hand, if you are looking for a war phone, we can only offer you this Blackview BV8800, with a cost of around 300 euros it is probably the most rugged phone on the list, thanks to its battery of over 8000mAH it can last for days without needing to be recharged. It is also IP68 certified, which means it can be submerged in fresh water to a maximum depth of one meter for up to 30 minutes

DOOGEE N40 PRO

An excellent compromise between the two listed above is the DOOGEE N40 Pro, with a cost of about 240 euros, not only is it the most affordable, but it has a battery of over 6000mAH and a screen that is certainly brighter than the BV8800. All without losing performance or compactness

Iphone XR

You didn't expect an iOS device did you? Yet here it is! With a refurbished cost starting at 260 euros, the Iphone XR is definitely the best performing phone when it comes to running an app, whatever it is. It's true: it's not as "rugged" as the others and even the battery is not of equal capacity, but if you combine it with a Quadlock and a power bank you'll have a phone with unsurpassed performance, a crisp screen compact size and a great camera.

Summing up

If you are looking for a rugged smartphone that can withstand even the worst of abuse The Blackview BV8800 is the best choice. On the other hand, if you want something more like a modern smartphone without losing ruggedness and battery life, you can opt for the DOOGE N40 or the Samsung XCover pro, the latter of which definitely has a brighter screen and if you use it for browsing you will appreciate it more than the DOOGE N40, which, however, has a higher capacity RAM that definitely helps in making apps work better. If, on the other hand, you want a travel smartphone without giving up the ability to take decent photos, post a story on Instagram that doesn't go jerky, and use navigation apps to the fullest then we feel like recommending the Iphone XR in conjunction with the Quadlock and a powerbank.

If by the time you are reading this you are already thinking about which app to use for your next trip, we can only recommend WHIP LIVE which allows you to find, navigate and create routes in a really easy and intuitive way.
