#7 Forra Road

This route, located in northern Italy, offers breathtaking views of the Alps and lakes Garda and Ledro. The Strada della Forra is a scenic road through the Stelvio National Park in Lombardy, Italy. It is a very scenic and challenging road bike route, with uphill and downhill sections that offer breathtaking views of the mountains and lakes in the area. The route begins in Val Camonica, near Edolo, and follows State Road 42 of Tonale and Mendola to Ponte di Legno. From here, it continues in the direction of the Stelvio Pass, traversing the alpine landscape with panoramic views of Val di Sole and Val di Non.

After Beaulieu-sur-Mer, the route continues inland through the Alpes-Maritimes region. Here, the terrain becomes more hilly and the landscape is characterized by vineyards, olive groves, and picturesque villages. The route then continues inland, passing through the villages of Grasse and Saint-Paul-de-Vence, with their narrow streets and stone buildings. After Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the route returns to the coast, passing through the city of Cannes, famous for its Film Festival and glamorous waterfront.

From here, the route moves inland through the hills of the Sierra de Grazalema and then back toward the sea through the beaches of El Rompido. The route continues north, passing through the town of Ayamonte and crossing the Guadiana River to enter Portugal. Once in Portugal, the route follows the coast through the Algarve region, passing through cities such as Lagos and Albufeira before arriving in Faro, where the route ends.

#2 Lanciano Pass

Passo Lanciano is one of the most famous salote climbs for road cycling enthusiasts in Italy and beyond.The route begins in the town of Chietio and winds through the eastern slope of the Maiella, an Apennine mountain range. The road to Passo Lanciano is about 18 km long and has an average gradient of 7.5 percent. The route has several twists and turns, with some steeper sections. The summit of Passo Lanciano reaches an elevation of 1,197 meters and offers spectacular views of the valley below and the Maiella mountain range. To reach Passo Lanciano by road bike, starting from Lanciano, you can follow the SS547 state road that climbs to the pass. The road is paved and well-maintained, making it suitable for cycling.

La Thuile is a coveted half for all cyclists, road and otherwise. The route starts in Gressan and follows State Road 26, a perfect asphalt surface will guide you through the beauty of the forests and the views of the Alps until you reach your destination.

The first section has a slight incline until you enter the town of La Thuille, from there the gradient increases significantly and you will need good training or willpower to reach the top, but the views will repay your effort and you can stop at one of the many refreshments with Mont Blanc peeping out at you.
