The Story and the Founder

WHIP was born from the real-world experience of its founder and CEO, Gioele Meoni.

Growing up in the world of rally raids and traveling closely with his father, Fabrizio Meoni (two-time Paris-Dakar winner), Gioele experienced firsthand the true dynamics of off-road exploration. Through his experience both as a support member in rally bivouacs and as a motocross, enduro, and rally rider, he identified three major challenges for off-road enthusiasts:

Complex planning: Creating a route away from paved roads requires advanced navigation skills.
Unpredictability: Dirt tracks change quickly, and traditional maps cannot reliably provide terrain information.
Safety: Traveling through remote and isolated areas involves real risks in case of emergency.

By combining this deep industry knowledge with his degree in Computer Science, Gioele decided to build the missing solution on the market. The goal was clear: create a tool capable of automating off-road route planning while improving rider safety. This is how WHIP was born.
